Dave Gandy (36 points) won the 0-18 grade on a countback over runner-up David Woodside.
The day’s top score went to the 19-36 grade winner Bill Carter (41 points), who was easily ahead of Bruce Smith (35 points). Nearest the Pins were Ray Mead (4th), John Bortolazzo (8th), Jim Dickie (11th) and David Woodside (15th). Vouchers went to 32 points on a countback.
Veterans’ memberships are now overdue. Until they are paid, unfinancial veterans can’t win a prize. The envelopes are on the bar.
Tomorrow’s event is a single stableford. Veterans must tee off no later than 11am due to the pro-am sponsors’ day, which tees off at 4pm.
Last Wednesday’s single stableford drew a small field of 22 players in two grades, with some unreal low scores.
Tony Catanzariti nailed a birdie on the third in his winning score of only 34 points in the 0-18 grade. He survived a countback over Dean Gaffey, who drained a birdie on the ninth.
There were similar scores in the 19-36 grade. Graeme Gifford (34 points) took the win. He was out in a T-Model Ford for 14 points and home in a Kingswood for 20 points. Dom Catanzariti was the runner-up after losing the countback. He nailed a birdie on the 11th in scoring 17 points on each nine. Peter Den Houting, Roy Calabria, Peter Gatti and Arthur Longmore won vouchers.
