EXIES premiership captain Marc Tucker is undecided about whether he will lead his side in this summer's Griffith District Cricket Association first grade competition.
Exies claimed last season's title with a six-wicket victory over the Yenda Jets in the grand final.
After the triumph, Tucker said he intended to play on.
While confirming his name will be on the team sheet when competition restarts next month, Tucker isn't sure the little "c" will be beside it.
"We're still having a look at that," Tucker said.
"There are a few other guys who could do it.
"I'm trying to get rid of some responsibility, but I'll do it if nobody else wants to.
"I'll still be playing, but I just wouldn't mind being able to concentrate on my cricket more without having to worry about all the other stuff."
Exies assembled their squad earlier this month to begin training but will be without a few familiar faces when the season starts.
Brent Harrison will be missing after retiring following last summer's grand final, while strike bowler Chris Mansell has gone across to Coro.
Tucker, however, is happy with how the team is shaping up.
"We'll pretty much be the same side," Tucker said.
"Hopefully some of the young blokes from C grade can start stepping up, and there's also a few new blokes who have come to town.
"But it shouldn't be too different."
Tucker also expects the closeness of the competition to remain the same.
"I think everyone wants to knock everyone else off," Tucker said.
"Last year the top four was only divided by one point, so you really have to try to win all the games you can."
"I'm expecting it to be pretty close again."
Tucker tipped Leagues to be the big improvers.
"I think they'll be a lot better," he said.
"They had a few young players last year, and they'll be better for the season they had."
