About 5.30am, the woman was driving along Whites Road at about 100km/h when the accident occurred.
As she approached the T-intersection with the Kidman Way, the 29-year-old's vehicle did not slow down.
Instead, it sped straight through and slammed into a tree outside Warburn Estate winery.
The impact was so severe, the battery of the woman's Mazda 2 was ejected 25 metres out of the car.
Also, a tyre and suspension material was located 20 metres away, and the gearbox was ejected two metres.
Workers from the winery heard the crash and ran to investigate, and discovered the woman trapped in her vehicle.
While the SES, Rural Fire Service, police and paramedics rushed to the scene, the workers sprayed the vehicle with Co2 to prevent it from catching on fire.
The woman was trapped for 45 minutes before SES crews managed to free her from the mangled wreck.
She was then rushed to Griffith Base Hospital via ambulance.
After doctors managed to stabilise her condition, she was airlifted to Canberra.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident and do not yet know if drugs or alcohol were a factor.
The woman remained in a stable condition on Saturday but sadly passed away yesterday morning.
