A man has died after being hit by a 20-tonne forklift at Hillston on Monday.
The 57-year-old was run over by the piece of equipment being driven by a 55-year-old on a property at North Hillston, north of Griffith, around 9.30am.
A 33-year-old man was knocked out of the way by the forklift while the older man sustained serious injuries.
Despite efforts from those at the scene - including bystanders who attempted to revive him and paramedics who were called - the 57-year-old died on the property.
The forklift driver and the man who was knocked out of the way by the forklift were taken to Hillston Hospital to be treated for shock.
Police and detectives attended the property and established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic officers as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident began.
Work Cover were also notified.
