YENDA has well and truly begun stocking up for next season after securing the services of Darlington Point-Coleambally speedster Josh Bryant.
The former 2006 Blueheelers premiership player has put pen to paper on a deal with the club in one of the biggest moves in the Group 20 silly season thus far.
The 26-year-old had an injury-riddled year with the Roosters after suffering a torn meniscus but said he is ready to return to his best football.
"I had a real rough season out at the Point with injury and work commitments and stuff like that," he said.
"I lost a lot of confidence and only played good footy at the end of the season.
"It's (the knee is) all sweet now. Yenda's a good young side. The forward pack is outstanding.
"They seem to lack a bit of speed in the backline which is probably why they rang me.
"But they're a good all-round team and I'm excited."
Bryant's signature is a sure sign big-spending Yenda is set for an all-out assault on next year's Group 20 title.
The Doggies went agonisingly close to a grand final appearance this season but can be confident of improving after the addition of the man once proclaimed the fastest player in the competition.
It's a boon for Yenda's wide stocks, especially if young gun Shorne Ngu decides against a move to Sydney, with him likely to fill the other wing position in that instance.
"That's one of the spots we had to strengthen up, because you can't teach or coach pace," coach Roy Romeo said.
"We have some good players there already but now we have options. He'll add some real spark to our backline."
Bryant played in the 2006 premiership alongside Romeo and president Lance Poka and said he felt a degree of loyalty towards the club.
He is also targeting a representative jersey, confessing the return of the Riverina side has served as inspiration.
"I've been training pretty hard in the off-season and once I saw Riverina's coming back I decided I wanted to have a really good crack at making that," he said.
"And with Rohan Loudon the new Group 20 coach - I played with him up at Sawtell and it'd be great to get a start in that as well, if I'm good enough."
