Charles Sturt University student Sinead Stone has been awarded a Gallipoli Scholarship for 2013.
Six Gallipoli Scholarships are awarded each year to university students who are descendants of soldiers who fought for Australia.
A scholarship provides $5000 to a student's first year of university and will go a long way to helping Ms Stone study pharmacy at CSU in Wagga.
Two of Ms Stone's great grandfathers fought in wars; her maternal great-grandfather George Charles Jones fought in the First World War while her paternal great-grandfather Joseph William Hancock fought in the Second World War.
Her parents, Daryl and Michelle, also served the nation in the army.
The scholarships are funded by RSL clubs, individuals and business groups and aim to continue the traditions of the Diggers, including perseverance, courage and self sacrifice.
Winners of the scholarships are also invited to take part in the RSL and Services Clubs Association's annual Kokoda Youth Leadership Challenge.
