A 32-year-old female was arrested for assault on January 23 by police in the early hours of the morning.

Police arrived just before 2am to address a dispute between the woman and a 32-year-old male who alleged an assault had taken place. The female entered a 4WD Toyota and refused to exit, even when placed under arrest.
While police attempted to remove her, she reversed and collided with a police car parked behind her before attempting to flee. Police were able to stop the vehicle by removing the keys from the ignition and the female was taken to Griffith police station where she was charged with a number of offences.
She has since appeared before Griffith Local Court and has entered into conditional bail. She will appear again on February 3.
In other police news, on January 18 saw a 64-year-old man have a minor collision on Kidman Way after a medical episode. The vehicle stopped near the intersection of Willandra Avenue and Kidman Way, where NSW Ambulance and police responded. He was treated at the scene, and no injuries were identified.
About 10:25pm on Saturday 22 January 2022 FRNSW and Police were called to Dave Taylor Park, Heath Crescent, Griffith after some children noticed the play equipment was alight. FRNSW attended a short time later and extinguished the fire. Police are continuing investigations in relation to the fire.
