As COVID-19 cases continue rising, securing the all too needed booster shot has become something of a mission for many, sharing similarities with those struggling to secure pesky rapid antigen tests that continue to be elusive and in short supply.
Booster shots are set to become available to an additional 3.55 million people across NSW, with NSW Health bringing forward the interval between the first dose and the booster dose from four months to three months.
There is a catch however, this change is only applicable for those who go to state run vaccination clinics.
So those looking to go to a pharmacy will have to wait the original four months.
Premier Dominic Perrottet said that being triple vaccinated offered extra protection against the Omicron variant, the variant that is comprising majority of the cases across the Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) currently.
"The advice is clear - getting boosted means there is less chance you will get the virus and, if you do, the effects are generally much milder," Mr Perrottet said.
"I urge everyone who is now eligible to get boosted to do so as soon as possible. This will help to protect our older population, as well as vulnerable members of the community."

The MLHD urged people to book in as soon as possible if eligible.
"We urge people to get their booster dose as soon as they are eligible, to best protect themselves, their loved ones and the community from the ongoing transmission of COVID-19," the MLHD said.
Health Minister Brad Hazzard shared these sentiments, saying that being boosted at three months after the second dose would give many the opportunity to be 'safer much sooner'.
"In addition to the state facilities opening at three months for boosters, individuals can still attend with their GPs or pharmacies when the Federal Government authorises them to provide boosters at three months, in due course."
NSW Health clinics offer Pfizer or Moderna vaccines to people aged 18 years and over.
Eligible people can also receive a booster dose of a COVID-19 vaccine from their GP and participating community pharmacies.
The MLHD is set to host a COVID-19 Vaccination Booster Blitz this weekend at Wagga Vaccination Hub, there is no word yet if a similar clinic will launch in Griffith.
A booster vaccination can be booked through the COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Finder.
