Fire and Rescue Station 311 turned out to the call just before 2:30 in the morning on December 5, only to find the house already alight.

Unfortunately, the house and shed were unable to be saved however a well placed line of defense prevented damage to the neighbouring properties.

Police established Strike Force Adaluma earlier this year in an effort to address the uncommonly high number of fires across Griffith, especially in Pioneer. Many have been deliberately lit, and the police are still appealing to the community for assistance and information on the fires.

Unfortunately, while Strike Force Adaluma is continuing investigations, it proved too late for the fire-prone Heath Crescent.
