The organisation provides long-term, one-to-one mentoring for young people aged between 7 to 17.
The team met recently to discuss the progress made, with the assistance of Big Brothers, Big Sisters CEO Matt Watts who visited the group to discuss how to move forward.
Mr Watts said he was keen to see the program arrive, and added that he was pleased to see such a number of people working to bring it.
"I'm very excited about it, bringing the program to the Griffith community. It sounds like there's a definite need for it here, it's all about providing for the future."
"I can't see much holding it up, it's just a matter of time."

Michael Borg, the chair of the committee, said that funds were their key hurdle at this stage, but they'd seen a good amount of community support.
"We still need funding, we always need funding. We've had a lot of traction today, everyone's been very positive and we're getting everyone on board," he explained.
The group has been working on a number of fundraising ideas for the new year, and have been submitting grant applications for funding as a boost. Mr Watts said that the grants would be good, but wouldn't be a long-term option.
Jessica Richards is one of the committee members, and said she was inspired to join after seeing the good the program did for her cousin.
"I have a cousin in the Big Brothers, Big Sisters in the ACT, it really helped him ... " she said.
"After seeing the suicide rates in Griffith, I thought that someone had to do something about it."
The group's official launch is currently set for April 1, 2022. More information on the Griffith chapter is available through their facebook group page.
