Life returns to the city's centre ahead of Christmas with Griffith City Council's Christmas light show being switched on at 7.45pm. Griffith Rotary Club's Christmas Carnival will start the fun from 5.30pm with live entertainment and more. On Saturday, the Sidewalk Sale begins from 9am.

Polls open at 8am on Saturday
Votes can be cast at Yenda, Yoogali, Beelbangera, Lake Wyangan, Griffith, Griffith North, Griffith East and Hanwood public schools. Voting will end at 6pm Saturday.
SUMMER CROQUET
Every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday on Jondaryan Ave
Croquet players start from 8.30am every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday at the old bowling green next to the Griffith Visitors Centre. Mallets are available for anyone who would like to come along and try their skill, make new friends and enjoy the outing.

Ian and the Collective will take the microphone at the Sporties from 7pm on Friday. Max Jones will perform at The Area Hotel from 8.30pm on Friday. At 4pm on Saturday, Remedy will perform at the Coro Club. Zak Hawkins will be on stage from 6.30pm at the Southside Leagues Club on Friday. Max Jones is on stage at the Sporties from 7pm on Saturday. Jasmine Jade performs at the Griffith Exies Club from 8pm on Saturday. The Stringers will take the mic at 8.30pm on Saturday at the Southside Leagues Club. DJ Bones, DJ Rossi and Fran Auset hit the decks at The Area Hotel from 10pm on Saturday. Then from 2.30pm on Sunday, the Lolohea Brothers are at the Southside Leagues Club.
PARKRUN GRIFFITH
Weekly, timed five kilometre event starts Saturday
Griffith parkrun begins at Ted Scobie Oval from 8am on Saturday. Everyone from walkers, joggers and runners is welcome. Entry is free.
GRAPES OF MIRTH
Comedy stars make their way to Griffith
Merrick Watts, Tommy Little, Denise Scott, Geraldine Hickey plus Sam Taunton and Lizzy Hoo will entertain at De Bortoli Wines' cellar door from 2pm on Saturday. The event is for people aged over 18, no food or drinks are able to be brought in, guests are encouraged to bring a picnic blanet. Tickets are $89.

Griffith Regional Art Gallery's latest exhibition explores items and commodities which are seen as desirable as the festive season approaches. The exhibition closes on December 19.
SUNDAY MARKETS
Fresh food, crafts and more at Griffith Showgrounds
Griffith Rotary's markets open from 7am until midday on Sunday at the Griffith Showgrounds. Stallholders will have everything from fresh fruit and vegetables, pizza bases, fresh honey, jewellery, candles, clothes, preserves and oils, seedlings and plants. Entry is by gold coin donation to Griffith Rotary Club.
