Plans have been drawn up, reunions organised and school is ready for a festivities that merit the special occasion.
Created out of the former North Yanco property of grazier and irrigator, Sir Samuel McCaughey in 1922, the school is the only fully residential public school in the state of NSW.
Currently, the school boasts a population of 250 students that travel from all of Australia, with plans to bolster the number in the years to come.
Relieving principal Lisa O'Brien said the school of today is very different to the school that was first formed over 100 years ago.
"The school was completely selective when it first started and now it is only partially selective," Mrs O'Brien said.
"We also transitioned to a co-educational environment which was a big change from an all boys culture and allowed families to send all their children to the one place."
Today the school has acquired newer and specialist classrooms, a swimming pool, sports hall, a hockey field, sporting ovals as well as multifunction netball, tennis and basketball courts, a far cry from the classrooms in former shearer's quarters 100 years ago.

Mrs O'Brian has been at school since 2006 and says there is nothing quite like it.
"The school has a rich tradition and deep connection with the agriculture industry, the land and all the students and their families both currently and in the past," Mrs O'Brien said.
"Our Yanco family is a massive part of the school community, we see the good, bad and ugly living, working and studying so closely together students and teachers alike so the bonds formed are very strong."
To celebrate the centenary, the annual beach carnival will go ahead on March 11, followed by a gala day on the 12 where up to 2000 'Old Yanconians' are expected to attend.
"We have two big days planned, it will be a great time to reunite with lots of wonderful activities planned," Mrs O'Brien said.
"There will be a reunion dinner, a fete and we will be opening up the school grounds on the Saturday evening for a dinner which will celebrate local food and produce."
