LHAC Chairspersons from Griffith, Narrandera and Lockhart lent their support to a promotional video and photo opportunity along with Member for Farrer Sussan Ley.
LHAC members are volunteers that come from all walks of life.
A committee that is diverse in nature is what makes for a strong, vocal and passionate group of people.
The Murrumbidgee Local Health District comprises 33 LHACs across the vast region that it covers.
They are all quite different depending on the size and makeup of the communities they represent.
However they all have one thing in common and that is they have their community's best interests at heart.
Members act as advocates who can raise awareness about what matters most to local people which contributes greatly to health service planning and sustainability.
LHAC members meet monthly and committee includes about seven community members, a clinical representative and an MLHD staff representative.
Meetings are held on-site at the MLHD facility with the local health facility manager also in attendance.
All committees are supported by both the MLHD and MPHN and are provided with funding opportunities to deliver projects which are aligned with the strategic direction of both these organisations.
LHACs also work in partnership with many local support groups with health promotion.
If you are interested in joining the Griffith LHAC in 2022, please contact LHAC chairwoman Margaret King on 0409 815 901.
