The celebration took place in Yenda with a smaller number of participants than usual, due to COVID restrictions on numbers. It didn't put a damper on things however, with over 70 people turning out to enjoy a group meal and some music.
Member for Murray MP Helen Dalton said she was 'thrilled to be invited', joining in a dance circle and mingling with the crowd.
Yogi Yogesh Bhatt explained the festival.
"Diwali is one of the biggest and grandest festivals celebrated mainly in India. It's a festival commemorated to mark joy, victory and harmony. Diwali means the end of darkness and start of a good life with lights and brightness," he explained.
