After successful heats were held on Tuesday night, Griffith Harness Racing president Denis Conroy said everything is looking good for the main event on Saturday.
"We have a full field for the cup, and the heats were very hotly contested last night," he said.
"There will be a good field for the George Duncan Memorial Maiden race, and those heats were very hotly contested last night as well.
"We are looking forward to those races on Saturday night."
While all eyes will be on the Griffith Cup main race, there will also be a special moment for the Duncan family at the conclusion of the George Duncan Memorial Maiden race, which has been introduced to pay tribute to the late George Duncan.

With rain on the horizon in the days leading up to the event, Conroy said the amount would be the determining factor as to the impact it might have on race night.
"A certain amount of rain will be good for the track and for the surrounds, but too much rain won't be good," he said.
"At this time of year, we don't need much break in it for it to dry out. It will be a day-to-day thing, and see how it all goes. It would appear that the heaviest part will be later today (Wednesday) and tomorrow (Thursday), so hopefully, that leaves enough time for it to all workout."
Gates will open at 5pm on Saturday.
