Kicking off from Wednesday November 3rd, shoppers are encouraged to add some extra non perishable items into their trolley or basket and drop them in the Community Food Drive trolley instore.
Donations will support local charitable partners such as the Griffith Community Council, Meals on Wheels, and Griffith Salvation Army.
Woolworths Griffith, Griffith North and Leeton Group Manager, Kathy Wylie said the stores were committed to supporting the community and helping those less fortunate, especially heading into the festive season.
"Food insecurity continues to be a real issue in communities across Australia and the past year has made it even more difficult for a growing number of families to access nutritious food and essentials," Mrs Wylie said.
"I encourage Griffith customers to join us and make a donation to the Woolworths Local Community Food Drive when they shop with us.
"By simply adding a non-perishable product in the specially marked trolley, you will be helping someone in need in our local community."
