The restock, privately organised by Tom Armstrong and Oz-Fish with support from Griffith City Council, will put between 800 and 900 fully grown fish into Lake Wyangan to revitalise fishing after last year's devastating mass fish death.
Mr Armstrong raised $10,000 to fund the plan in just weeks by asking local businesses and dedicated resident's for support. Griffith City Council pledged to match the money raised, so Mr Armstrong ended up with an impressive $20,000 to buy the fish which will inhabit the lake soon.
"We are all systems go for November 19," Mr Armstrong said.
He explained that the time needed for fingerlings to grow into adult fish that can be caught was too long, and that he wanted families to be in a position to catch decent-sized fish immediately.
He originally estimated that the money raised would fund over 1000 fish, however without a confirmed number so far, the estimate has dropped to between 800 and 900.
"We've got 800-900 fish, depending on how many kilograms a fish is, and we got some quality checks done two days ago to make sure the water is up to scratch. That's come back very good, it's all good news," Mr Armstong added.
"All the fish are being tagged and documented so if someone catches a fish, you can record the number and with the bigger fish, we've got 5 of them that will have a prize attached to the number!"

The fish will be introduced into Lake Wyangan to begin a celebration of fishing and the lake itself.
"The fish will be released throughout the day, we're going to try and leave 50 cod in a big tank so the community can get involved and put some of the fish in. Friday afternoon, there'll be a bit of a barbecue. All the sponsors of the cod will be out there," Mr Armstrong said.
"Anywhere from 4:00 until 7:00, you can come out to the ski club. Kids can have a bit of a run around, I'm trying to get a jumping castle out there."
