Picking up an instant scratchie each lunchtime means she was surprised to have uncovered the top prize from her $5 24K Gold ticket.

"I always purchase Instant Scratch-Its tickets on my lunch break. It's a regular thing I like to do," she said.

Even after checking the the ticket she didn't believe she'd won.

"When I scratched the ticket, I didn't think it was real," she said.

"I was at home surrounded by my partner and my kids. They couldn't believe it either.

"We were happy, overwhelmed. To win $24,000 is amazing."

While travel is off the cards for the time being, the woman said she was going to be looking for a way to celebrate her good fortune.

"I'm going to help my family. They're my number one priority," she said.

"I can't really go anywhere at this stage, but I'd like to celebrate the windfall one day."

The ticket was bought from Griffin Plaza Newsagency and owner Manjit Lally said the team were excited for one of their regular customers to win the top prize.
