The traditional Christmas event is shaping up to return to help celebrate the reason for the season.
A small crowd of 500 people gathered in Memorial Park last year and one of the organisers, Julie Andreazza, a member of the Griffith City Council's Christmas Working Committee, is hoping to see a much larger crowd this time around.
"We would love to get to 1000 people, it would be awesome," Mrs Andreazza said.
"We pushed through last year, and we still want to maintain the traditions that we as a community hold dear.
"It brings a bit of life to the main street and we want to bring a celebratory atmosphere."
The event will be held after the final hurdle in the NSW Re-opening Road Map is cleared, however organisers are taking a cautious approach.
A meeting this week will determine what needs to happen to ensure that it remains a COVID-Safe event, and whether it needs to be a ticketed event, or if it will be open to everyone.
"Last year we followed COVID rules, but we're yet to find out the exact implications of the current rules for this year's event," Mrs Andreazza said.

Mrs Andreazza said finer details such as the start time are still to be worked out but it was definitely in the calendar for Saturday, December 11
To ensure the event runs smoothly, Mrs Andreazza said Matthew Segrave would return to curate musical performances and artists as he did last year.
The town band as well as a number of music students are expected to perform but Mrs Andreazza said anyone willing to get involved was most welcome.
A number of businesses are set to run food stalls for Carols by Candlelight and Mrs Andreazza said it would be great for those businesses which had battled through lockdowns to be supported by patrons on the night.
Santa is also expected to make a quick visit as while he's checking his list for the second time.
"Come and enjoy Christmas and be part of a community event whether it's for 10 minutes or an hour," Mrs Andreazza said.
She said anyone wanting to perform should contact her on 0412 917 201.
