Some of the best cricketers from around the MIA have been putting in the hard yards in recent weeks to prepare for the season.
November will be a busy month for the cricketers with it getting underway with the Colston Scammell Shield and Graham Gorrel Cup getting underway on November 7 while the Youth Championship trials for the under 13s, 14s and 15s against Northern Riverina in Wagga starting the week after.
The best cricketers from the trials will be selected in the Murrumbidgee side that will compete at the Youth Championships later in the year.
The start of the season has undergone some changes due to the concerns around teams coming from Albury in light of the rising COVID cases from the border region in recent weeks.
Coach Luke Docherty is confident in how the side is looking.
"I think the boys are pretty much ready to go now," he said.

"They have had the training under their belt, and they will have a couple of games, so I think they will be right.
"We have done the hard work in the nets, and now it is about translating that into a game."

The academy players have been training every Sunday since the end of September to prepare for the carnivals, and Docherty said the improvement of all players have been noticeable.
"They have definitely come a long way, I think," he said.
"In terms of a lot of them not doing the drills that we have done before and then seeing them over the four sessions be able to hit the ball with confidence and bowling some great areas has been really good."
The opening games of the Colston/Scammell Shield and Gorrel Cup will be played in Griffith on Sunday November 7.
