In line with Mental Health Month, the MLHD will be inviting anyone to submit and share their artwork in a virtual gallery - artists can submit a piece and share the meaning behind it if they so wish.
The virtual gallery, named the 'Lived Experiences Art Gallery' will host the pieces after they've been screened by MLHD staff.
Tiffany Thompson from MLHD's Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Service said that the 'Lived Experience' competition for all people with experiences of mental health, drugand alcohol issues whether personally lived or through caring.
"Many people find creativity and artwork an important part of managing their mental wellbeing and practising self-care," said Tiffany.
"We thank everyone who submits their artwork and we acknowledge the courage that it takes to share your work and your stories."

Submissions made before October 31 will be entered into the Lived Experience Art Competition, competing for prizes up to a $500 gift voucher.
The winning entry will be used as the official artwork for the Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Vision and Mission statements and accompany these where they are printed or displayed, along with being displayed in the foyer of Wagga's Mental Health Unit.
The winning artist will receive a $500 gift voucher.
Five runner-ups will be included in printed and online consumer and carer information resources which for people accessing Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol services.
They'll also be displayed in the foyer of the Wagga's Mental Health Unit until the end of 2021 and artists will be awarded a $100 gift voucher.
The Artwork Competition is open to anyone living in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District, who is aged over 18 and has personal or caring experience of mental health, drug or alcohol issues.
