The energy hub is a mix of wind and solar energy, connected to battery storage with enough capacity to send a DeLorean to the future twice, or power over a million homes across Australia. It's planned to connect to the 'Project EnergyConnect' interconnector that currently runs through the area.
It's been placed there to support the EnergyConnect network as well as the proposed Humelink and VNI West or Keranglink interconnectors.
Spark Renewables, the group behind the hub, added that the renewable power station would mitigate the impact of coal-based power station closures that are planned. It will also offset over five million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
Once constructed, sheep will be able to graze on both the solar and wind farm land, following a similar system that Spark Renewables implemented at Bomen Solar Farm just north of Wagga Wagga.
Spark Renewables will be holding drop-in sessions at the Coly Club on December 7 and at the Jerilderie Council Hall on December 8. Both sessions will run for five hours from 2pm to allow community members to drop in at any time to discuss the project.
Anthony Marriner, Head of Spark Renewables, said that they were keen to hear how the project could improve based on regional feedback.
"We have now commenced the development process and are keen to meet the local community," he said.
"Local knowledge on land-use, community needs and regional priorities provides valuable information that can be incorporated into the project."

Part of the plan for the energy hub is to include the Efficiency Benefit Sharing Scheme, which will incorporate a community fund however the size of the fund has not been specified as yet.
After the planning process, it's hoped that construction on the first stage could begin in 2024 before operations can commence in 2025.
"The construction and operation of the Dinawan Energy Hub would create more than a thousand jobs and provide economic stimulus to the local businesses and community organisations," Mr Marriner said.
Information on the project is available at the Dinawan Energy Hub website.
