A long string of thefts from parked vehicles over the weekend has sparked concern for many car owners.

The weekend saw four separate incidents of cars being broken into and ransacked, with valuables being stolen when they were present.
Between 10pm on October 15 and 8.30am on Monday, a vehicle parked in the rear carpark of a business on Yambil Street had a window smashed - a mobile phone and several fuel cards had been stolen from the interior.
Another private carpark on Yambil Street saw four different vehicles entered, however nothing was stolen. Two of the cars had had windows broken, but entry had been gained another way for the others. The interior of all cars had been ransacked and interior compartments opened and searched through.

A vehicle parked outside a residential premises on Wood Road was also rifled through between 3:30am and 9:30am on Sunday, with the owner finding the passenger door left open and internal compartments disturbed. A wallet was confirmed to have been taken.
Finally, a ute parked on Kelly Avenue was broken into between 9am and 11am on the morning of October 17. A men's wallet had been stolen from the interior and the glovebox had been rifled through.
OTHER CRIME
A 31-year-old man has lost his driving privileges after being pulled over for a random breath test. Police stopped the car in Banna Avenue just after 11pm on Friday night, where a RBT produced a positive result. The man was taken to Griffith Police Station, where he was found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.161.
He was charged with driving with a high-range PCA and his license was immediately suspended.
A stolen car was found alight at 6am on Sunday morning, with the owner unaware that it had even been stolen. Police found it alight on Kalinda Road after a neighbour heard a loud bang and spotted it burning.
The car had been stolen at some point after 5:30pm the night before.
