After a long few months of delays and cancellations at the Griffith Regional Theatre, the theatre will be returning with a most triumphant Guitar Hero session on October 30.
This year, the theatre was set to host comedy trio Sooshi Mango, the Robertson Brothers and a range of shows like "The Man with the Iron Neck." Unfortunately, due to the resurgence of COVID-19 and concerns, all have either been delayed to 2022 or cancelled.
Staff at the theatre were not disheartened however, and have planned new and exciting ways to engage and provide entertainment for the Griffith community.
This new series will be heralded by a four-hour gaming session on Saturday October 30, running "Clone Hero" - a Guitar Hero-esque video game, through the theatre's state of the art projector and sound system.
Acting theatre manager Margaret Andreazza said that the idea had come from Nathan Hardy, who had been disappointed by the last few months.
"The event is being directed by theatre technician Nathan Hardy who started to look for ideas - he said it was sad seeing the Theatre empty for so long," said Mrs Andreazza,
"Nathan came to us with the idea and thought it would be a great opportunity to try something different and engage with people in the community who might not usually come to the Theatre."

"We are always thinking of new experiences to bring to our patrons and ways in which people can engage with the Theatre beyond our shows and workshops. Refreshments will be available for purchase at the bar, and all are welcome to come along and play - either on their own or with their mates - and have a great afternoon out," Mrs Andreazza added.
The event will be held from 11am to 3pm at the theatre, and is recommended for those over the age of 13 due to some songs with adult themes.
Attendees will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in line with current guidelines. More information is available at the theatre's website.
