The health department is now encouraging residents in Griffith, or people who have been in Griffith to get tested if they have mild symptoms of COVID.
Common symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose and loss of taste or smell. Other symptoms include fatigue, acute blocked nose (congestion), muscle pain, joint pain, headache, diarrhoea, nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite, unexplained chest pain and conjunctivitis.
- Testing is available at Murrumbidgee Local Health District's clinic on Yambil Street which is open from 9.30am to 1.30pm seven days. You can drop in or book by calling 1800 831 099.
- Laverty Pathology has a testing at Griffith Showground which runs from 8am to 2pm Monday to Friday and from 8am to 11am on Saturday with no appointment necessary.
- Your Health Griffith at 105 Binya Street is open for testing from 9am to 6pm on Monday and 9am to 4.30pm Tuesday to Friday. Bookings can be made at hotdoc.com.au.
Elsewhere in the MLHD, exposure sites at Young and Wagga Wagga have been confirmed.
Across NSW 1331 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the 24 hours up to 8pm on Friday night, while six people had died.
Four of those locally acquired cases are within MLHD.
Across NSW, 81.2 per cent of the over-16 population has received a first dose COVID-19 vaccine, and 50.6 per cent are fully vaccinated to 11:59pm September 16.
