The person and their contacts worked in the Grong Grong, Coolamon and Narrandera area and were put into isolation.
The MHLD confirmed on Saturday that the person does not have COVID-19, and they, and their close contacts, are no longer required to quarantine.

"The information about the suspected positive result was provided yesterday while the case was still under investigation to address rumours circulating in the community," a statement said.
Results from repeat testing of sewage from Temora sampled on September 1, was also received on Saturday and are negative. The repeat testing followed positive samples taken on August 26 and 30.
No other locations in MLHD have had positive sewage samples this week.
This week, sewage testing has been carried out in Albury, Cootamundra, Corowa, Deniliquin, Griffith, Gundagai, Junee, Leeton, Moama, Mulwala Narrandera, Tumut, Wagga, West Wyalong and Young.
