Griffith Fire and Rescue were called to the showground just after midnight on Thursday morning, finding a block of stables well alight.
The crew worked quickly to contain the fire and prevent it escalating, before support from the Yenda crew, Rural Fire Service, Griffith State Emergency Service and Leeton Hazmat crew arrived.
However, the block of vintage 1930s stables was destroyed and unable to be saved.
A bulk water tanker and front-mounted water cannon courtesy of the Lake Wyangan Rural Fire Service brigade made short work of the fire and the blaze was brought under control.
While continuing to fight the fire, several crews were interrupted by reports of a car fire in Poole Street and were required to leave the stable fire to investigate.
Captain Danielle McKay said it was "basically an entire stable block" that had gone up in flames.
