Police said they could smell liquor inside the vehicle and when the man was asked to produce his license he informed them it was disqualified.
The man was subject to a roadside breath test which returned a positive result. He was then arrested and taken to Griffith Police Station for further testing.
Police said the secondary breath analysis returned an alleged reading of 0.135 - nearly three times the legal limit.
The Griffith man was issued a court attendence notice for mid-range PCA, disqualified driving and aggravated burnout.
