After a back and forth opening 12 minutes, it was the Black and Whites who were able to strike first as a stretch pass was enough to end Maya Simpson into a gap and over in the corner.
The Black and Whites extended their lead two minutes before halftime as, after a strong break from Lily-Belle Misiloi, gave them a chance and a pass back on the inside saw Beyonce Marela able to score next to the post and give the Panthers a 10-0 lead heading into the break.
The Yenda side needed to be the first to score after the break, and they did just that as Abbey Brill got over under the post, and the successful conversion from Monique Higgins made it a four-point game with seven minutes gone in the second half.

The Yenda side piled on the pressure but wasn't able to make the breakthrough, and Black and Whites coach Shailyn Williams was full of praise for her side's defence as they held on for a four-point win.
"We didn't put many points on, but you don't win games if you don't defend well, so I think our defence really stood up today," she said. "There were a lot of opportunities there where Yenda could have put points on us, but our young ones, especially out on the edges, held their own."
While the Black and Whites will prepare for a clash with minor premiers Leeton, Yenda awaits the winner of the game between DPC Roosters and TLU Sharks.
