Ms Taprell officially launched her children's book addressing nightmares back in February, after 20 years of experience working with children and families in her capacity as a psychologist.
The awards are presented by The Women's Business School, honouring the best and brightest Australian mothers in business in an exciting awards event.
Ms Taprell is up for the Regional Business award, recognising "rural, remote & regional businesses that have achieved outstanding results in all aspects of business, including marketing, profitability, influence, presentation and customer service," according to the description on the AusMumpreneur website.

"I was nominated and thought that was a good opportunity but I didn't really expect to be a finalist so it's exciting. It's nationwide and there's a lot of amazing people so we'll wait and see," Ms Taprell said.
Not one to sit on her laurels, Ms Taprell is working on a wide variety of other projects including creating illustrations for Renee Irving Lee's newest books and developing a range of new therapy tools for parents.
While her blog has received a significant amount of attention, Ms Taprell has said that she's not interested in doing more private practice work and is keen to keep "The Therapist Parent" as a not-for-profit advice site.
"It's not-for-profit at the moment, I'm working on other resources to give out but the blog is all information that's free ... It's to help where I can but it's also to build up the audience," she explained.
"Recently, my social media's gone a bit crazy and people have reached out. I'll answer their questions but if they need ongoing help, they need to see someone regularly," she said.
"Just for some of the basics, they should be able to have that information."
