Police observed a white utility vehicle with stolen number plates and began pursuit, chasing the suspect for 40 minutes before the car hit a residential fence and the driver was detained.
The chase was 'well in excess of speed limits' according to Acting Inspector Whalan. The driver was a male in their early 30s.
While there was minor property damage, nobody was hurt throughout the pursuit.

The driver is currently being charged with a number of traffic offences, and police are looking into the stolen plates.
The stolen plates may be connected with a recent string of license plate thefts that hit Griffith, and the chase comes just a week after another pursuit ended with a crash into a corrugated iron fence.
Acting Inspector Whalan said that the pursuit went roughly as well as could be hoped.
"There was minor property damage ... It was a good result at the end of the day. They're in custody and nobody was hurt."
