The rise in water levels flows on from recent releases from the Burrinjuck and Blowering Dams which have combined with local tributary inflows to cause the flooding event.
It is expected that at both locations, the Murrumbidgee River will reach and potentially exceed their minor flood levels as the week progresses with the river at Darlington Point predicted to peak at approximately 5.50 meters on Friday and the river at Narrandera reaching around 6.7 meters on Wednesday.
Deputy Commander at the Griffith SES Unit Tim Laidler has previously told The Area News that staying flood smart was key to staying flood safe.
"Our message consistently from the SES is not to go into flood waters or any water where you cannot see the bottom" Mr Laidler said.

According to the BoM, whilst rainfall is expected across the region, it is unlikely that it will impact forecast flood levels.
Minor flooding is also expected downstream of both areas and from Wagga.
