Hanwood is yet to lose a game this season, and is currently sitting comfortably at the top of the ladder with 30 points. Just behind them sits Leeton, a full 7 points behind. With just six matches to go, Hanwood is definitely on track to charge through the season and take a glorious victory.
The upcoming match is Hanwood's second against Wagga United this season, after taking a narrow victory against them back in May. At the time, coach Brian Bertolin said that Wagga United kept them on their toes, describing it as a tough match.
Unfortunately, Wagga's formidable plays are not reflected in the year's ladder. The team has had a rough patch, taking only two wins out of ten games. They're currently sitting at sixth on the ladder, trailing behind Young with just nine points.
Nonetheless, Bertolin is keen to get back on the field. This week's game is at Hanwood's home field, and he's particularly excited that the return will be a match against Wagga United.
"The last match against Wagga was probably the closest match we've had this year. They were pressing us a bit, so we're looking forward to the match-up. They gave us a really good one," he said.
"We had a few weeks off with the wet weather and we're definitely looking forward to getting a run of games again."

When asked whether their impressive success over the season might have put some added pressure on to perform, Bertolin said that they weren't thinking about that and preferred to play in the moment.
"We don't really look at that too much, we just take it week by week. You can't think too far ahead or relax on what you've achieved because at the end of the day, we haven't won anything yet."
Unfortunately, Hanwood will be down a number of regular players. Dem Toreno will be out with a hamstring injury, and Blake Potts is currently not expected to play after an ankle injury.
Potts was also out during the last game against Wagga United.
After recent wet weather caused a number of games to be delayed or cancelled, Bertolin said that they weren't dissuaded. He joked that wet weather was almost better for soccer.
"Our ground has been holding up pretty good. The blokes get to slide around and get a bit dirty."
