Imagine telling that 9-year-old he would not only grow up to captain the club's senior side, but he'd also follow in his father's footsteps and play an incredible 200 games for them as well.
He'd probably tell you you're dreamin'.
The seasoned Swans skipper has officially hit the double-century, racking up more than 200 first grade appearances for his boyhood club.
The 200 games represent more than 15 years of footy and an almost unrivalled level of commitment to the club.
Toscan admits he never expected to hit the milestone, but eventually the club established itself as one of those parts of your life you just can't shake.
"Especially early on I don't think I even considered it as a possibility but yeah the Swans have probably become one of the biggest mainstays of my life," he said.

- James Toscan
Other than a brief move away from Darlington Point to live in Melbourne, Toscan admits the thought of playing for another club has never crossed his mind - especially considering his family's close connection to the Swans.
Toscan came into the club with big expectations as he followed in the footsteps of his father Gerard Toscan, who also hit the 200 game milestone, won multiple best and fairest awards, and was even named in the Swans' Team of The Century alongside other all-time greats.

But James Toscan forged a path of his own and created his own collection of iconic Swans memories.
"As a team the best season I've had was definitely 2018 when we went through pretty much most of the season undefeated," Toscan said.
"Even though we lost the Grand Final, in terms of the team and the vibe around the club that was definitely the best year I've had."
He was also awarded best and fairest in 2019 and is currently in his sixth straight year as the Swans' captain.
Toscan admits he's not sure what his tally of appearances will look like when he decides to hang up the boots and for now he's just focused on leading the club through the rest of the season.
"We'll see what we get through this year and see how the body pulls up."
Toscan's achievement will be commemorated by the club before they head out onto the oval to take on Coolamon Rovers at the Exies Sports Club this weekend.
