It is available to all people living in the Murrumbidgee region and is available 24/7.
Griffith Local Health Advisory Committee is aware that many people may not know about Accessline or are not sure what to expect when they make the call.
The MLHD put a call out to hear from people with lived experience to help create a resource to support those who are thinking about calling Accessline.
The plan is to develop an information leaflet which will help people understand the service and feel more confident in making a call when they need to.\

Participants suggested that the following things were important for people to know - it is confidential but not anonymous; Accessline will triage people based on need and make appropriate referrals to local services; emergency services will be called if they feel that urgent assistance is needed; it is a free service operated by the MLHD and you do not have to be at a point of crisis to call Accessline as referrals to services can be made.
Many participants reinforced that is there is limited knowledge or understanding about this service and that it is a much need resource for our community.
If you or someone you know is feeling distressed and need to contact someone urgently, please call AccessLine on 1800 800 944.
