The drive-through testing clinic at the Griffith showground has been ransacked overnight, leaving the site wrecked and testing equipment scattered across the ground.
Greg Adamson arrived this morning to get his son tested, and found the site unusable.
"My son showed some cold symptoms so we went to get him tested as well, we rocked up and it was all trashed and broken into," he said.
His son was exhibiting cold symptoms but was unable to get tested until later today as the crew cleaned up - Mr Adamson expects it to take up to five days to get results back and be able to send his son back to school.
Mr Adamson was especially upset at the seemingly random nature of the crime.
Right now, that's the worst thing you can possibly hitGreg Adamson
"There's bad and then there's just dreadful ... I don't think you can get any lower, what if we did have a case in the community? Right now, that's the worst thing you can possibly hit."
The vandals also hit Woodside Hall, emptying four fire extinguishers into the hall, and breaking 27 windows. They also destroyed an old cash register.
Christine Stead was called to the site by a nearby resident and said the damage was heartbreaking to see.
"They tried to get into the show office as well. They put some holes in the walls with a hammer," she said.
"It's hard to put a cost on it, you can't just patch it up. We're waiting for the department to get back to us ... the trust members are very upset, a lot of hard work has gone into it."
Ms Stead added that they had recently received a grant for a new fence and that the trust was now especially keen to get that built.
Inspector Adrian Matthews described the act as 'malicious damage.'
He confirmed that the investigation was ongoing and encouraged anyone with information to contact Griffith police on 6969 4299 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
The testing centre is now operating again and the trailer site has been cleaned.
