On Saturday July 24 from 9:30am to 12:30pm join local award-winning children's writer Caroline Tuohey as she shares the ins-and-outs of writing and publishing picture books.
Caroline is a member of the Griffith Riverina Fellowship of Australian Writers and has published six children's picture books.
The workshop is suitable for those aged over 14 years and will cater for those who have a manuscript and wish to progress it, as well as those who simply wish to sit, listen, and learn.
Caroline will go through writing the story, networking, progressing a manuscript to the final draft, and finding a publisher.
Following a booked out session in July, Wellways Australia will be running another Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training session on August 14 from 1pm to 4pm.
The interactive workshop is group-based and runs for three hours. It is suitable for anyone aged over 16 years and is an opportunity to develop knowledge and skills to better recognise and support vulnerable people in your community.
The workshop will look at some of the myths around suicide, how to recognise warning signs, what questions to ask to support understanding, and how to refer to appropriate support services.
It aims to assist you to identify suicide warning signs and make connections with those at risk.
Anyone can be a gatekeeper, and gatekeepers save lives.
