Daniella Gullotta, a staff member from Griffith City Cinemas was in attendance at the two cinema screenings this morning that saw approximately 70 die hard fans attend, and said the atmosphere was 'electric'.
"It was a very tight game, very stressful in the cinemas because for most of it, it really could of been either teams game," Ms Gullotta said.
"But after that last penalty shot, it was pandemonium. There was cheering, chanting, everyone was very emotional and excited."
According to Mr Trimboli, the result is especially exciting given Italy did not even qualify for the world cup last year.
"Roberto Mancini, the coach for Italy, took these players on and believed right from the beginning that the team would win," Mr Trimboli said.
"People thought he was crazy, but he said our aim is to win the title and they have now won!"
Maria said she had very high hopes for next year, but Salvatore said he was happy to just live in the moment and enjoy Italy's win.
"We are extremely proud of them, we really couldn't be prouder," Ms Trimboli said.
"This win is everything to us," Mr Trimboli said.
