Across the last week, the Riverina has faced seven house fires with five of those being in Griffith.
The fires at McNabb Crescent, Nericon, Davidson Place, Heath Crescent and Snaith Place have pushed Griffith Fire and Rescue to the brink.
Captain Danielle McKay said that it was a difficult week, but some time off had done wonders for the crew and they were recovering from what was undoubtedly an incredibly tough week.
"It's been a super busy week, it was like Groundhog day but they know it's part of the job ... They've managed to get some rest, I think we're OK now."
Fire and Rescue NSW acting Inspector Glen Whitehead has released a plea to exercise fire safety, especially in the winter months that see a ten per cent increase in house fires. He especially urged everyone to ensure they had a working smoke alarm and to test it regularly.
"A fire can take hold in just three minutes, filling your home with deadly smoke. Don't become a statistic - stay out of harm and have a working smoke alarm this winter."
Inspector Whitehead added that FRNSW is reaffirming the regular fire safety tips to not use any outdoor cooking appliances indoors, avoid using wheat bags to heat beds and 'keep looking when cooking.'
Griffith Police are currently investigating the fires on Heath Crescent and Snaith Place, labelling both as suspicious and asking anyone with information to come forward.
Acting Inspector Mark Griffith said investigations into these fires are continuing and he urged anyone with information to come forward.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Griffith Police Station on 6969 4299, or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
