Diversity is important in decision making because of the variables in people's ideas.
The idea may seem rather daunting, however, to be part of decision-making for matters close to home and to better our community, it would be a worthwhile step to take.
A councillor has the primary role of representing the community and to help resolve any issues that may be affecting that community, in the areas of building regulations and development, public health, local roads and footpaths, parks and playing fields, libraries, local environmental issues, waste disposal, and many community services.
This may give the impression that it may be rather difficult to achieve, but make no mistake, these areas of concern happen over a timeframe that is achievable and have enough time to discuss and resolve.

Life can take on unpredictable paths, that's for sure. The recent experience with the latest COVID-19 flareups has shown how easy a day or a time can suddenly change for everyone.
The rush for a safe and effective vaccines have produced quite a variety of those.
Unfortunately, it appears the only way to fight the virus is via careful management, coupled with vaccines, as advised by health professionals, which is slowly becoming the norm for everyone.
