Aquna has struck gold at the 2021 delicious Harvey Norman Produce Awards, winning a national gold medal in the 'From the Sea' category after securing the win in the state awards held in May.

The team submitted their sustainably farmed Murray cod for judging by a national panel, and called the win a 'highly sought-after top honour.'
The Griffith based business, use a land based aquaculture model which has resulted in one of the lowest environmental footprints in the industry.
Previously, the team have also been recognised as NSW Business of the Year for their sustainability credentials, out of 800,000 businesses in NSW that has seen Aquna breed and raised Murray cod fingerlings in their hatchery, which are then released into the Murray-Darling Basin river system.
Aquna Chairman Ross Anderson said he was proud of the gold medal win, saying it placed the Riverina fish product among the best in the country.

"Being named as a Gold Medalist, in Australia's pinnacle food awards, highlights the dedication and quality of work in our production teams," Mr Anderson said.
"I would like to extend my congratulations to all of the producers who have been recognised this year."
The awards are now in their 16th year and celebrate exemplary primary producers who are demonstrating innovative farming methods with a distinct focus on provenance, seasonality and sustainability.
The national judging panel included Alla Wolf-Tasker, Andrew McConnell, Peter Gilmore, Matt Moran, Josh Niland, Matt Stone, Jo Barrett, Lennox Hastie and Danielle Alvarez.

In regards to the awards, Mr Niland called them an exciting platform to showcase excellent produce nationwide.
"I feel so proud to be part of these awards as they are so important. It's vital we shine a light on the great producers that work tirelessly across the board," he said.
Just recently, Aquna Sustainable Murray also started selling their easy to cook fillets in a select group of Woolworths stores is Sydney, giving consumers a taste of the Riverina.
