Of particular cause for concern, is that the highly contagious delta strain of the virus has an almost 100% transmission rate for those not vaccinated, with Australian health officials warning it no longer takes up to 15 minutes to pass along the virus, but instead now a 'fleeting moment' of just five to ten seconds.
And whilst Griffith has managed to avoid community transmission in this outbreak so far, the Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) is taking precautionary measures and encouraging people to continue getting tested if they show even the slightest of symptoms or have been in Greater Sydney since June 21st.

"Testing is critical for detecting this virus early, and the MLHD continues to work closely with private pathology partners and GP led respiratory clinics to ensure access to testing" MLHD COVID-19 Coordinator Emma Field said.
The Laverty Pathology drive through testing clinic is open seven days a week between 8am and 3:30pm.
Attendees will need to show their ID, Medicare care and a pathology request form if one is on hand and must remain in their car at all times.
Entry is off Murrumbidgee Avenue.
The Yambil street testing clinic is also still open seven days a week between 9am and 1pm.
