President of GRAPA and director of the show Bonnie Owen said in a shared video that she encouraged anyone to join in, whether or not they had prior experience acting.
"As for anyone with little or no onstage experience, I'd love for you to come and give it a go ... for anyone who's been waiting for a sign, this is it! I am your sign!"
She said that she was excited to bring a new take on the story, and have some more fun with it.
"Twelve years ago, we actually did Romeo and Juliet so this time we're changing it up a bit. We're taking a unique spin but I don't want to reveal too much. It's going to be a lot of fun, a lot of energy."
Auditions are being held on July 10 at and registrations are open online at GRAPA's website.
Anyone with a willingness to give it a crack is encouraged to sign up with the caveat that people under 16 are not recommended to take part due to the famously intense subject matter.
Miss Owen was very keen to encourage them to attend the play as audience members, however.
