The drink aims to incorporate 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar into a more appealing drink, flavoured with fruit and limiting any preservatives or processing.

Food scientists Lisanne van der Kooi and Nicolas Tsisios have been travelling around the world consulting with different people and companies, which is how they met Sam Marando.

The Marando family have been making vinegar since the late 1800s and Sam Marando is deeply passionate about the techniques passed down from his great-grandfather.

Mr Marando said that he wanted to bring the benefits of apple cider vinegar to young people.

"We're a family factory just trying to educate young people on the benefits of apple cider vinegar."

The Marando's create the vinegar, and Miss van der Kooi and Mr Tsisios use it to create "Up the Combi." The partnership has worked out well, with the drink catching on across the country and now being stocked in select major supermarkets in Sydney, as well as being available around Griffith.

To help promote the drink, Mr Tsisios and Miss van der Kooi are now getting ready for their tour in the 'Combi Car' - beginning with a music festival in Byron Bay and visiting all the capital cities from there.

The duo are hoping to visit some farmer's markets and other festivals, as well as seeing the major landmarks of Australia.

"We decided that we were already travelling, so we figured we'd tour and promote the drink ... We want to teach younger people about the benefits of apple cider vinegar, so we make it easy to drink," Mr Tsisios said.

You might notice that the "Combi Car" is unfortunately not a Kombi van.

"The idea was to use a Kombi van, but we thought that might not get us too far," he added.

There is also an added incentive to keep an eye on the tour, with a chance to win a $1000 cash prize for anyone who can upload a photo of the car to social media and tag The Vinegar Factory.
