After taking on more staff and clients, Kurrajong has taken stewardship of a plot of land on Mirrool Avenue in Yenda. The spot was formerly the home of St Therese Primary School but hasn't been used in the years since the school was closed.

Kurrajong Therapy Plus provides support to children and adults with disability or developmental delays. They work with clients based on individual needs and have a team of speech pathologists, physical therapists and educators among others.

Lorna Barber, the admin assistant at Therapy Plus, said that the new location would provide the opportunity to expand and provide more services to clients.

"We have such a big team now, it's good being all together so we're hoping this space helps us do that ... We can provide a much more dynamic service."

The new location already includes an occupational therapy room along with more space for individual sessions and social interaction between clients, which Miss Barber said was important to foster development.

The move has been successful so far however after being in the new location for just three weeks, the team is focused on ensuring that clients are aware of the change.

"The old building, we were there for a very long time so it's just about getting the word out," Miss Barber said.

The new space offers plenty of room for further expansion, which will be needed as Kurrajong continues to grow and take on more clients according to Miss Barber.

"As Kurrajong has grown, we've had to expand. We still have a huge waitlist."

Zoe Stimson, a therapist with Kurrajong Therapy Plus, was not dissuaded by the backlog however.

"We're keen to help the people who want it."
