VACCINE ROLLOUT IS COMPLEX AND CHALLENGING
Recently there have been some concerns raised about Phase 1a of the COVID-19 National Vaccine Rollout in the Murrumbidgee's residential aged care facilities, specifically the delayed delivery of vaccines. On behalf of Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN), I would like to acknowledge the COVID-19 vaccination rollout is complex and challenging.

Primary Health Networks across Australia, including MPHN, have been tasked by the Commonwealth Department of Health to provide support to a number of stakeholder groups including residential aged care facilities, general practices and GP vaccination hubs regarding rollout of the COVID-19 vaccination program across all phases.
Scheduling of COVID-19 vaccinations under the Phase 1a is managed directly by the Department of Health with Commonwealth contractors administering the vaccine to residents of aged care. We are now pleased to confirm all privately operated residential aged care facilities now have their facility scheduled to receive the Pfizer vaccine. The first doses will all be complete by mid-May 2021.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all healthcare professionals across the Murrumbidgee, who continue to work diligently with such passion, empathy and care for their patients.

SAFETY OF MOTORISTS NEEDS TO BE CONSIDERED
Two years ago I wrote a letter to the editor to highlighting the need to upgrade the Burley Griffin Way. Since that letter a bus has crashed on a narrow bridge west of Harden and now a railway bridge near Wallendbeen has collapsed.
These are not minor events. Clearly, the incidents of the past two years highlight that a thorough review is needed of the safety of the Burley Griffin Way.
Infrastructure needs to meets minimum safety requirements and extra consideration given to the fact hundreds of thousands of tonnes leave this region a long that path. What I would particular like to see is:
1) Bridges at Ardlethan, Wallenbendbeen, Stockinbingal and Harden widened.
2) Multiple overtaking lanes added to allow ease of travel between the Hume Highway and Wallendbeen.
3) Widening of the shoulder of the Burley Griffin Way between Wallendbeen and the Hume Highway.

'THE BOGAN STORM'
We had a bad bogan storm the other day,
For every thee spots of rain there was one of dust,
It changed the colour of all the shiny cars in Banna Avenue,
They now looked like they had freckles or spots of bloody rust.
If you didn't know what a bogan storm was, now you do,
And you can inform your city cousins and new arrivals to the outback,
There are lots of things out in the bush that other places do not get,
They probably smile and think, we don't mind that there are things that we lack.
