Praise has been heaped upon the four murals, which have been painted for this week's Banna Lane Festival.

The works include a bright and vibrant rendition of local flora by George Rose, a heartfelt and realistic painting of a Griffith farmer by Reuben Boughtwood, some colourful wildflowers by Mandy Schoene-Salter and a contemporary Indigenous goanna by Allan McKenzie Senior.

Festival organiser Carrah Lymer says she is "so happy" with how the murals have turned out.

"When we chose these artists we chose them for their distinct styles. That mix of different artworks is exactly what we've gotten," Ms Lymer said.

"There have just been so many people coming by, taking photos and saying how excellent the murals are and taking a tour of the lane, which is exactly what we want."

On social media, images of the artworks have garnered hundreds of likes and comments, with people from all across the Riverina stating their fondness for the pieces.

But Ms Lymer said she isn't surprised by the amount of support on social media and on the streets of Griffith.

"I'm very happy that people are responding well but I think the murals are just one of those things where once people see it and what it does to the space they can't help but like it," she said.

"The artwork might not be their style, but they still appreciate the colours and the intrigue coming off the laneway now rather than just a plain brick wall."

With two of the works done and dusted and the final two approaching completion, attention is now turning to this Saturday's Lighting Up The Laneway party, which is being held in conjunction with the Streetscapes event.

From 5pm on Saturday May 8, the Banna Lane murals will be lit up and residents will be invited to make their way down the laneway for a fun night with the whole family.

Roving street performers, including a ballet dancer and a didgeridoo player, will be performing throughout the alley, as residents celebrate the continued transformation of Banna Lane.

There will be a kid's section with colouring in and chalk, as well as food and drinks on offer throughout the alley and on Kooyoo Street, where stunning art is set to be projected onto the side of the Westpac building.

"We think people will really love seeing the new murals lit up and I just think it will be a really great family night out," Ms Lymer said.
