More than 200 Griffith residents packed out Binya Hall for the fifth-annual Curry and Jam, as scintillating conversation and good music played second fiddle to the delicious curry on offer.
The event raises money for the Country Education Foundation (CEF), to help young Griffith residents heading off to university, and CEF chairperson Craig O'Keefe said it was once again a great success.
"It was a great night," Mr O'Keefe said. "The weather was perfect, the music was good, the drinks were good and of course the curries were fantastic."
Mr O'Keefe says the foundation is still working out exactly how much money was raised but they are hoping to have broken the $10,000 mark.

While there was no desire to change what is already a popular event, Mr O'Keefe said there were some layout updates this year to bring more people out around the fire and by the live music.
"We changed the layout of where we do everything and it was a really good atmosphere," he said.
"We made a better ambience and I think people noticed."
Local bands Trouser Pants and The Cool Cowboys put on the entertainment, but the biggest attraction on the night was undoubtedly the delicious food prepared by members of the Sikh Community.
The talented chefs begin working on the curries from 10am, and offer it up to the CEF for no charge.
Speaking before the event, Mr O'Keefe was full of praise for the generous act.
"It's incredibly generous what the Sikh community does for us and we are so grateful to have their help every year to put on such a great event."
The event is the CEF's big fundraiser for the year and now the focus is on attracting applicants, Mr O'Keefe said.
"At the start of September we open up applications for a couple months and by Christmas we will be interviewing people," he said.
"This event is our major fundraiser and will really have helped us get enough funds to send these country kids off to university with a little bit of support."
