The Blues were on top from the start with four goals in the first seven minutes and eight by quarter-time in a high-scoring start.
But the Kangaroos refused to let them get right away with defender Liam Pattison leading their resistance.
At the other end Blues' Tom Morton was having a big impact and Coleambally co-coaches Luke Hillier and Curtis Steele led their efforts in the middle and up forward alongside Hodge.
The Blues led by more than seven goals twice in the first half only to see Temora come back into the contest both times, replying with three unanswered goals.
But they were swimming against the tide with the visitors desperate to secure their first win of the season after the shock of three straight losses.
Isaac Reardon, Nathan Stimson and former Blue Jack Cullen were also among Temora's best.
