The Anzac Day civic commemoration service on Sunday morning was a touching tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice and the families left behind to grieve.
This year marked the 106th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing.
Attendees gathered at Memorial Gardens to pay respects to those who served and to honour the 122 fallen from Griffith and surrounding areas.
While the celebration had to be smaller this year due to COVID-19 restrictions, organisers and speakers were pleased with the turnouts to both the dawn service and the march later in the morning.
The service was presented by Terry Walsh, who served in the army for the Vietnam War. The guest speaker, following the tradition of hearing local voices, was Grant Blumer, who shared his family's stories of war and its impact.
Representatives from the RSL, Salvation Army and local high schools all spoke at the event, along with local Scouting branches and the Wagga RAAF who came to lend their support.

Major Lyn Cathcart from the Salvation Army led attendees in prayer to bring in and send out the service, and bugler Amelie Borella sounded the Last Post and the Reveille.
Mr Walsh was pleased with the turnout to the service, despite COVID-19 restrictions posing obstacles.
"I'm very, very happy with the attendance, just as I was with attendance to the dawn service."
Flight Lieutenant Adam Tracey-Patte led the catafalque party at the memorial, coming over from Wagga for the service.
"It was just a great opportunity for the RAAF Wagga."
Attendees at the service were graced with a flyover from the RAAF Heritage Squadron just after the service had concluded, in honour of the 100th anniversary of the RAAF and the No. 100 Squadron.
